Here at La Vida Local, we strive to create the connectivity we see necessary to support a sustainable local economy and community.  Our current food system is on the brink of collapse.  It is already disastrous.  Non-sustainable models all eventually must come to an end.  Agri-business is trying to fix the disaster by layering science with more science, continuing the downward spiral...because they cannot provide the answer, which is a return to traditional farming methods, which are not feasible on a large scale.   Hence, the return of the small (now organic) farm.  One of our goals is to help connect the farm to the consumer through  our Facebook Group (La Vida Local), where we can coordinate shopping trips to local farms and specialty stores like Westwind Milling, share information about other great food resources, get involved in political movements, and much more!  Also check out our Blog at www.lavidalocalonline.blogspot.com where we post pertinent weblinks and have further discussions about healthy, local, organic food and the greening of our lives and that of SE Michigan!
